A corrupt sheriff knows the secrets of everyone in town and uses that information to go unchallenged. But after the arrest of an innocent teenager, the new doctor cannot keep quiet and tries to get the community to stand up for what is right.

Campbell Carter, in the process of building a luxury hotel, is aggravated by the fact that he cannot acquire a coffee bar and adjoining antique shop owned by Sid Light and his younger brother Bill. Carter tries several unsuccessful tricks to further his own ends. Largely due to the fact that Carter's daughter Carole falls in love with Bill, there is a conciliation between Carter and Sid who go into partnership. Sid's new idea of a band-and-dance show in Twenties style is incorporated in the hotel.

The series takes us into the world of mental health where Dr. Justine Mathieu meets with patients that were brought in by frontline emergency responders Clara St-Amand and Gabriel Beauregard.

The limited-run serial is an adaptation of Argentine series Resistiré.Torres, a former Miss Universe, played a woman torn between her bioterrorist fiance and her bodyguard, played by Todd Cahoon. Catherine Oxenberg and Casper Van Dien also appeared as villains. 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has not announced plans to release this series on DVD and/or Blu-ray.Telefe, which produced the original version, syndicates a 64-episode run of the series in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. It promotes the show as mixing a classic Latin genre with Hollywood aesthetics. From July 2009 it was aired in Slovakia on TV Markíza taking the slot of Latin American telenovelas, but the show was not very successful.
